For those who want to stick with a character in Star Wars The Old Republic you’ll still be ”earning rewards, opening things up” and discovering new areas.
The more traditional MMO portions of Star Wars The Old Republic have been kept largely quiet until recently, as BioWare were stressing the differences that their game offers. However now the studio wants to reassure ‘core MMO’ players they’ve got what they want.
”You’ve got Operations, you’ve got Warzones, you’ve got actually some full different content that we’ve not talked about yet. You are still going to be earning rewards, opening things up, finding some new places to go and having a lot of new places to go, and team up with your friends,” said Daniel Erickson in an interview with GameReactor.
”And, you know, all the traditional things you’d expect to from an endgame content. The guys who want to stick there at the endgame tend to be a bit more traditionally MMO-focused and they’re a huge core part of our audience.”
Are you someone who prefers to stick it out with a certain ‘main’ character, or do you like rolling alts? BioWare stresses that class changes offer completely new storylines and quests to overcome. Each effectively has their own narrative arc from start to finish.
Star Wars The Old Republic is still tentatively scheduled for Q4 2011.
