Licensing looks set to put a serious crimp in the future of EA Sports MMA as UFC parent company Zuffa is in the final stages of its Strikeforce buyout.
The rival brand is the lifeblood of EA Sports MMA as it featured the promotion’s roster of fighters. Unless a new deal is brokered the series looks dead.
The future of the EA Sports MMA franchise was already weak but with the confirmed sale of Strikeforce to Zaffa it’s put serious doubt over a sequel. While an agreement between the two is likely solid for one more game, EA might decide to cut their losses now.
