Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions has announced that their Halloween-themed RPG Costume Quest is now available on Steam for $14.99 USD. As a bonus, the game is bundled with the expansion Grubbins on Ice.
The game is about a group of Trick or Treaters whose town has been invaded by monsters, who are stealing all of the candy. To combat this, the player builds a party, collects candy, takes on side quests, and crafts new costumes along the way. The main gameplay mechanic is that the costumes turn the wearer into a real version of whatever it is a costume of. A witch costume turns the wearer into a witch, and so on.
Grubbins on Ice takes the player through a mystical portal into the dimension of Repugia, which features new quests, new locations, and new costumes.
Costume Quest was released a year ago for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
