Gabe Newell has launched a firestorm of speculation. After the group 4Chan wrote a bizarre, incomprehensible joint letter to Gabe Newell after Wheatley’s appearance on the Spike TV Videogame Awards.
Newell responded to 4Chan’s letter with,“I don’t suppose it would ease your wrath if I told you we’re announcing all of your favourite things at E3 2012?” He then added: “something with a ‘three’ in it.”
Adding to the speculation, Valve’s “Doug Rattman” Twitter account piped up after a long silence, “It begins.” The Twitter account then began tweeting cryptic codes such as, “ЯK – 63.4 | 37.5 | 20.5 | 47.4 | 13.1 | 12.5 | 27.6 | 72.4 | 54.3 | 70.3 | 34.6 | 15.1 | 60.2 | 21.0 | 38.5 | ,” and so on. |
Considering Rattman is a character from the Portal series, this would seem to indicate a Portal 3. However, it’s been established that Portal and Half-Life share the same reality. Could Half-Life 2: Episode Three be debuting at E3 2012 – or maybe Half-Life 3?
