Electronic Arts has announced that it has officially pulled the plug on Mirror’s Edge 2, stopping development of the project after early prototypes were deemed to be disappointing.
Electronic Arts’ Patrick Soderlund said that the Mirror’s Edge series was “close to his heart”, but poor sales did not help matters.
According to Press 2 Play, DICE showed Electronic Arts a prototype, and EA was not pleased: ”EA was shown a prototype, but declined with askance. The project has been stopped - involved parties at DICE are working on something else now.”
Back in 2008, Electronic Arts declared that they had “big plans” for Mirror’s Edge, and were planning for sequels beyond the planned trilogy - before the game had even been released.
