Developer Bigpoint has announced that they are now accepting registrations for the closed beta of their new movie license MMO, The Mummy Online. Gamers who are looking to embrace their inner Rick O’Connell can sign up at the official site here.
According to Bigpoint, ”Once in-game, players will fight their way through a single-player tutorial level before selecting their allegiance (Raider or Cultist) and class (Gunslinger/Assassin, Brawler/Enforcer, or Scholar/Priest). As players gain experience through both PvE and PvP gameplay, they will be able to learn new skills, unravel special capabilities, and purchase more powerful equipment.”
The beta will be based in Eygpt, with PvE regions, each of which are populated with a host of monsters, including scarabs, scorpions, pygmies, Anubis warriors, and, of course, mummies. The beta will also include PvP regions which will allow players to fight enemy factions, capturing ancient obelisks to dominate the playing field.
The closed beta is scheduled to run a few weeks, and will review all feedback, getting the MMO ready for the official open beta launch.
