As of April 1st, developer Hudson of Bomberman fame will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of publisher Konami as they want their mobile gaming expertise.
Since April ‘05 Konami has had a 54 percent stake in Hudson. It’s unclear if they will keep its name intact, but CEO Michihiro Ishizuka steps down March 31st.
They will become wholly-owned by Konami via a stock swap which takes place April 1st, when Konami Digital Entertainment’s Kazuhiko Uehara assumes the helm of Hudson, replacing current CEO Michihiro Ishizuka.
Konami is yet to decide if the Hudson name will survive and how they might combine their business operations. The move comes after they want Hudson’s knowledge of mobile gaming distribution and possible social gaming projects in the future.
Most notably Hudson will always been known for Bomberman.
