Just over 24 hours after it has gone on sale on Origin, Star Wars: The Old Republic‘s Collector’s Edition has sold out. Not only has it sold out, but Amazon has been allowing gamers to re-sell their Origin preorder, and some of the auctions have run up to $400 and more.
The Collector’s Edition has also started appearing on eBay as well.
What is funky is that the Collector’s Edition does not physically exist. There’s no inventory that has run out - it’s just an arbitrary limitation imposed by Electronic Arts.
The Limited Edition, which physically exists and is being presold by sites such as Amazon and Best Buy, is still available, albeit at a higher $150 price point.
