Gamers and modders who used a no-clip to bypass the invisible barrier of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim have made a shocking, if pleasant, discovery: the entire Tamriel land mass lies beyond the borders of Skyrim.
Jesse, a 19-year-old blogger from Finland, was the one who discovered this first when venturing to Stendarr’s Beacon, the southeastern corner of Skyrim and the closest part to Morrowind. As he followed a path, he found an archway which had an invisible barrier barring him from continuing further.
Activating no-clip mode, he followed the path and discovered VVardenfell, which veteran The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind players are very familiar with. “Bethesda has made the landmass for Morrowind. Solstheim is there, the mainland is there, VVardenfell is there. It’s all there,” wrote an amazed Jesse. Further exploration found additional landmarks.
Why is the entire landmass there? It’s quite possible Bethesda plans to release expansion packs that will expand the game to Morrowind, Cyrodil, and Daggerfall, among other regions. Even if they don’t, the discovery has probably made modders take notice.
