PS3 copies of Battlefield 3 are notably missing the inclusion of a free copy of the digital title. EA will make ”all BF3 expansions available early” on PS3 instead.
”It’s one of the most exciting games of the year bundled free with one of the most popular PSN games,” said Sony US big cheese Jack Tretton, back in July at E3 2011. The Blu-ray of Battlefield 3 was to include Battlefield 1943 as well.
However US gamers have noticed that isn’t the case and EA have now confirmed its no mistake. ”In lieu of 1943 being available on disk for PS3 customers, EA has made all BF3 expansions available early to PS3 customers,” twittered EA.
Battlefield 1943 was the digital only update to the original 1942 from DICE, which upgraded the world with fully destructible environments and a visual touch-up.
Battlefield 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this week.
