Boulder Dash XL is developed by Catnip Games with help from the same company who did all of the iterations of the game since the mid-1980’s, First Star Games. The game retains the same elements as all of the other Boulder Dash titles: a side-scrolling maze game with a treasure hunter searching for diamonds while avoiding enemies, falling boulders, and traps.
The update features ”7 times the amount of caves as the 1984 original release,” according to publisher Kalypso Media, along with a new “puzzle mode,” items like speed enhancers and telescoping arms, and online leaderboards.
The game will cost 800 Microsoft Points, while a PC version is due later this Summer.
