Bethesda’s jumbo land of Skyrim in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been honoured by Japanese magazine Famitsu by scoring a maximum of 40/40, meaning the RPG is a record holder.
It’s the first time a Western made title has ever managed to be so well received by the mag. It seems even the Japanese couldn’t resist all that dragon slaying and chugging back the mead.
Famitsu asks four journalists to submit their scores for a game and then adds them to achieve their ‘out of 40’ rating. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim hits Japan December 8th.
The magazine Famitsu went into weekly circulation in 1986 and Bethesda’s Skyrim has become the 17th title in its history to achieve a perfect score, like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Patches are due this week for the game. The troublesome lag for PS3 gamers seems to have been all cleared up - hooray!
