DICE has announced on Twitter that to celebrate the two millionth Battlefield Premium member, Battlefield 1942 will be free on Origin.
The tweet announced, ”To celebrate our 10th anniversary and two millionth Premium member, we are giving away BF1942 for free! http://origin.com/demos #BF1942”
The original Battlefield 1942 was released in 2002 and became one of the most influential shooters ever released, introducing large scale mission-based online multiplayer combat with vehicles on PC. It enjoyed two expansions and started the Battlefield line, while inspiring many famous mods, including Star Wars: Battlefront.
