If you still play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 you may have noticed something unusual over the weekend. The Favela multiplayer map has been removed after complaints from offended Muslim gamers.
Two paintings depicting a quote from Muhammad were hung in a bathroom on the map. One was even above a toilet. Infinity Ward is making quick edits to the level before putting it online once more.

Activision responded:
”We apologize to anyone who found this image offensive. Please be assured we were unaware of this issue and that there was no intent to offend. We are working as quickly as possible to remove this image and any other similar ones we may find from our various game libraries.”
The map should be live again soon.
