This will mark the first time a mixed martial arts title ever appeared on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
The game will allow players to customize their own fighter’s look and fighting style, which includes styles including Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing among other styles. Gamers can The gamer can level up and gain experience points for their fighters, which allow them to learn new MMA skills.
The game will feature both online and offline multoplayer. Online, gamers can go head-to-head against other competitors in random or ranked fights. The more wins a player earns through the ranked online fights, the closer they are to gaining XP and getting to the top of the leaderboards. Players who are on the top of the leaderboards will have the opportunity to be recognized in upcoming Bellator fights live on-air on Spike TV broadcast episodes.
For offline local matches, players can engage in such play modes as Super Fight mode, where a player can pit his fighter against a friend or an AI combatant. The Tournament mode will feature a single player ladder in which players have their fighter face a gauntlet of 8 fighters. Finally, the Path To Glory mode is a career mode where players take a fighter through the MMA world, earning XP along the way.
Bellator: MMA Onslaught will be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network sometime this Summer 2012.
