Eager brawlers who secured Tekken Tag Tournament 2 early have discovered that six additional characters are buried within the game’s data. It’s unclear if these are just ‘palette swaps’.
They could also be fleshed out as something more. This would balloon the fighter roster to over 60 characters. Among the ‘hidden’ list is Unknown, whose first appearance was as a boss.
Initially a rumour, the hidden six have been confirmed by way of model images and their apparent character selection profiles.
The hidden brawlers are Miharu Hirano (Ling Xiaoyu’s best friend), Doctor Boskonovitch, Slim Bob, Sebastian (Lili’s butler), Violet (alter-ego of Lee Chaolan) and Unknown (boss in arcade release). Shoryuken managed to score the images confirming the fan find.
Creator Katsuhiro Harada has dropped hints to gamers that perhaps not every fighter had been revealed by the Namco Bandai team. Tekken has a notable history of including special character unlocks when certain goals are met. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 releases on Xbox 360 and PS3 September 11th in the US, 14th in EU.
