The game takes place in mid-19th century Japan as the Edo period is ending. We play a masterless Samurai wanting to make his mark as Japan opens up to the world around it.
We get to customise our Samurai, choosing age, to then being cast amid a power struggle between three powerful factions. What missions we take will shape our future.
The California-based NIS America brings Japanese games to Western markets. Way of the Samurai 4 is one of their latest ventures. Interestingly other players’ characters can enter your game as AI-controlled assassins.
