Every $100k milestone reached adds another star system the team puts in. Cloud Imperium has almost secured the record for the highest crowd sourced title as they encroach on Project Eternity.
It was Double Fine who first took the crown with Double Fine Adventure funded to the tune of $3,336,371. Then along came Obsidian with Project Eternity’s $3,986,929.
Star Citizen through Kickstarter and Cloud Imperium Games’ own funding website is now over $3.4 million with plenty of time left on the Kickstarter clock. That being said the pledge drive for Star Citizen won’t be ending when the Kickstarter campaign closes, whereas the other two were limited to a time frame.
”We’ve reached the $3.4 million unlock: the Goss System! At $3.5 million you’ll earn another system and learn more about the games’ docking mechanics. Let’s get there soon!” posted the update on Kickstarter. The studio has released a beautiful picture of the newly unlocked Goss System which you can gawk at below.
