According to inside sources, the BBC iPlayer will be landing on the Xbox Live Marketplace next week, and especially pleasing for non-paying Live members, the app won’t require an Xbox Live Gold account.
The BBC iPlayer had been promised by Microsoft since late 2010, but suffered a prolonged delay.
Microsoft has issued a “no comment” on the rumor.
The Marketplace currently also features the 4oD and Channel 5 on Demand apps, with the ITV Player due to launch sometime in 2012.
