An interesting hint about Microsoft’s plans for Xbox Live were discovered on the resume of Microsoft group product planner Praveen Rutnam’s LinkedIn profile, which featured a bullet-point list of Rutnam’s activity at Microsoft during his current employment.
One line item stated he ”developed strategy to further monetize Xbox LIVE subscriber base that will be implemented for holiday 2012.”
While it sounds like another way to squeeze advertising on the Dashboard, it’s actually more ammunition for the belief that Microsoft would be dumping Microsoft Points in favor of real money instead. That is, using credit card transactions rather than using scrip.
