There ”will be other ways” to gain access to the beta, it’s just that right now pre-ordering Warfighter is ”the only way to guarantee entry.” Too soon for BF4? They release one ”every two years” already.
EA confirmed that Warfigher pre-orders would come with beta access to the next Battlefield , but DICE felt they needed to point out it isn’t exactly ‘exclusive’.
”There will be other ways to get into the beta aside from Medal of Honor: Warfighter,” community manager Ian Tornay explained via Reddit. ”At this time, however, it is the only way to guarantee entry.” The DICE employee also touched on the concerns that fans were voicing over another Battlefield game arriving ‘so soon’.
”We’ve been seeing a lot of concerns about the pacing of release (i.e. “only” two years after BF3). I think it’s worth noting that DICE has released a Battlefield game every two years or sooner AND Mirror’s Edge at least every two years.”
Battlefield 3 will continue to be supported in 2013, assured Tornay, as production on new maps will be unaffected by work on the next Battlefield. ”There are several teams at DICE. Starting work on Battlefield 4 does not mean that we will be abandoning Battlefield 3 or working any less hard to bring you the best expansions we can,” he continued.
”DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3. Just as we’ve continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4.” Tornay pleaded for more fan feedback.
The team at DICE know already fans expected ”a better VOIP option, Battle Recorder, Spectator Mode and more robust eSports support.” EA have stated that the Battlefield 4 beta will be ”available in Fall 2013.”
Medal of Honor: Warfighter releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 23rd in the US, 26th in the UK.
