As of this week from December 17th, Sony’s PlayStation 3 has sold - yes, sold - 30 million units in Europe and PAL territories. 5 million alone are claimed in the UK since October 11th.
Global PS3 sales are floating at the higher end of 60 million. Sony has made life a little difficult to track just PS3 sales as they now combine them with PS2. Xbox 360 has over 70 million.
Yeah, the annoying ‘cool kid’ Xbox has still sold more. Will this generation of PlayStation catch up to Xbox before the next cycle? Sony have always said PS3 will overtake.
