Moss said he was ”really disappointed” to see the image as he’s a ”huge Gearbox fan”. Pitchford meanwhile said Moss’ work was ”amazing” and that they ”should be working together” to make it right.
The artist said he wasn’t angry over the matter but would have ”jumped at the opportunity” to work for the dev. Olly Moss’ work includes the cover of Resistance 3.
”I’m a huge Gearbox fan so I was really disappointed to see this image inside the Borderlands 2 box,” tweeted Moss. ”Not angry, just disappointed,” he added. ”One of my favourite developers. Would have jumped at the opportunity to work with them. Oh well.” Justice is at hand though as Randy Pitchford extends an offer to make it up to Moss.
”You’re amazing. Inspiration is part of art and you’ve inspired us. But the bit that was lifted is uncool, so… consequences,” said the studio founder. ”Check your e-mail. We should be working together to do it right and legit.”
The British artist is almost embarrassed over the incident: ”Haha! This whole thing is so far from a big deal,” replied Moss. ”I wish I’d never even said anything.” Borderlands 2 has launched atop the UK all format chart as it released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC last week on Friday in Europe. The first DLC is expected next month.
