ArenaNet has revealed Guild Wars 2’s policy on world server transfers, and it only involved in-game currency and a waiting period.
Players when they first register for the game will pick their home world server, and can even pick one outside of the region they purchased the game. Players will then be able to transfer to a different server, but will be charged in-game currency: 1800 gems. They will also have to wait a week in real-time before they’re allowed to transfer again.
More intriguingly, players can temporarily join friends on any other server in a system called “guesting” when the game goes live. They may not, however, participate in World vs. World combat for their temporary host server.
Guild Wars 2 will be holding another beta-test this coming weekend from the 27th to 29th April.
