Specifically, BioWare will be adding new co-op modes that ‘link’ to single player decisions which include paragon/renegade points and overall progress. It will add six co-op story missions.
There will be four new maps and ”hazard variations” of Earth maps. There will also be new reinforcement packs offering new kits for salarians, krogans, humans and volus.
BioWare has said before how they wanted to update maps introduced in the previous Earth multiplayer DLC, adding to them ‘Hazard’ versions which are harder to beat and include environmental dangers. Community manager Chris Priestly dismissed the DLC description as untrue but has done so previously for other leaked DLC.
”The day of reckoning is nigh!” reads the description, uncovered by fans. ”The Reckoning Multiplayer Expansion brings six new never before seen co-op story missions to the game and new co-op gameplay modes. It provides four new maps to conquer and hazard variations of the Earth maps.”
”It also enables reinforcement packs that offer new kits for the salarians, krogans, humans and volus. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Chakram Launcher, Blood Pack Punisher and Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle).” The weapons mentioned are single player making the cross online, user TSA_383 found out from files.
It has been far more difficult to garner any information from this latest patch, they said.
”I’ve never seen anything like this one though, it’s SUPER clean,” TSA_383 remarked. ”Like, usually the DLC_shared files even in the patches contained bits of script, all of them had the stuff from Leviathan at least, and this one’s more or less blanked. Everything cut.”
”Also, the coalesced files aren’t able to be opened, I’m not sure if they’re encrypted or what but I can’t make sense of them at all, whereas every other one had all its details hanging out making suggestive poses… To be clear, a lot of this stuff doesn’t technically NEED to be in a patch, it’s just that previously they’ve not removed it and I’ve been able to leak stuff often months in advance :D.”
The latest Mass Effect 3 patch for all platforms has addressed a multiplayer issue, and ‘high memory usage’ by DLC. BioWare recently teased two in-game shots of some upcoming single player DLC for the sci-fi RPG. The studio is also busy with Mass Effect 4, with the team having reached out to fans for feedback.
