Jean coyly hinted that a new The Simpsons game might be coming, in light of the success of the recent iOS/Android city building game The Simpsons: Tapped Out, where Homer must rebuild Springfield after destroying it from the nuclear power plant.
”Tapped Out is amazing. For a game like it is, to still be increasing in popularity long after its release is really unprecedented. It’s a really, really good game and it’s doing amazingly well,” he noted, adding, ”We’ve been at it so long. I mean, the first game was an arcade game. So there’s been unbelievable history to the video games that have come off the show. And we’re a ride at (Universal Studios), which is amazing. So I think that kind of thing is not going to stop. In fact, it will just increase.”
Electronic Arts holds the videogame license for The Simpsons, and was mum about any upcoming projects based on the IP. Meanwhile, South Park will have a full-fledged Obsidian RPG in the form of South Park: The Stick of Truth.
