According to anonymous sources the development team behind L.A. Noire, who were formerly known as Team Bondi, have been let go after their Whore of the Orient project failed to secure a publisher.
KMM’s Doug Mitchell has said that the ”unique and extraordinary story and game” of Whore of the Orient isn’t being abandoned, but didn’t confirm or deny reports of staff layoffs.
It’s unclear whether KMM’s Sydney studio will suffer a closure after these alleged redundancies but they are at least looking to secure additional funding.
”Whore of the Orient is a unique and extraordinary story and game, and we are still actively pursuing the right investor to partner with,” said Mitchell, reports MCV. This latest project was a detective game set in 1936 and more than likely to use Depth Analysis once again for motion capture.
