Indie developer Golgom Games has launched their ”murder mystery business sim” Mansion Lord on both Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight.
As the title indicates, the game takes a lot of inspiration from the classic Dungeon Keeper, except instead of building a dungeon to attract monsters, you’re building a mansion to attract murder suspects, who will engage in an Agatha Christie-style situations. Players then hire and outfit detectives to capture them after they’ve killed fellow party guests.
Also like Dungeon Keeper, players must discover each killer’s unique set of likes and dislikes, tailoring the mansion rooms to suit their preferences. to lure them to your mansion! Try to draw in the most elusive suspects to complete your “collection.”
Combat is turn-based, and for a break, players can send their detectives down into the basement to do some rogue-like action, killing ghouls to win treasures and prizes.
Gamers can check out Mansion Lord, which is due to be released in August 2014, on Kickstarter here, and Steam Greenlight here.
