There are twenty new aircraft taking War Thunder’s hangar to over 300 historical planes. Eight new combat maps join the rest with the more tantalising DX11 visuals.
Update 1.37 arrives before the second phase of closed beta testing commences for the Ground Forces Expansion. Collector’s Advanced Packs gives immediate access.
Once the skies are invaded by the open beta hordes then the exclusive packs will retreat. The Japanese Ki-84 fighter and Hs.129B-3 German attack craft, which sports ”the enormous 75-mm cannon,” are part of the new additions.
”With the new progression system War Thunder pilots can chose the aircraft they want to unlock next, and every battle on any plane of this nation will bring this moment closer. This allows players to progress more quickly through the branch of the research tree they prefer. At the same time, both new and existing players will keep their achievements, earned modifications and previously purchased planes.” Gaijin have posted a dev diary on the new progression system.
The lengthy 1.37 changelog is available on the official War Thunder website.
