Papo & Yo developer Vander Caballero explained the reason that PlayStation Network title, which was a transparent allegory for life with his abusive father, is heading to Steam is that while sales were “good” on PSN, it didn’t cover development costs.
According to Caballero, ”Despite the good sales, the cost of the game has to be covered,” he said. “We have covered already parts of the cost of the game, but when it comes out on Steam, we’ll make money. Then we’ll cover the whole cost of the game.”
Papo & Yo will begin preorders on the 4th April at 10% off til its release on the 18th April, lowering the cost to $13.50. Preorders will also get the game’s soundtrack free as well.
