Meridian: New World will move into Phase 2 of its Steam Early Access run on Monday, May 5. Developer Ede Tarsoly will be hosting an AMA session and a live stream of the new version May 3 at 4pm GMT. You can watch it at this link.
The single-player sci-fi RTS is a one-man production, with Tarsoly doing all the work. You play as Daniel Hanson, commander of the first expedition to the uncharted planet of Meridian. Things go wrong, obviously, and you have to guide your expeditionary force to safety. The update will add two new missions in the campaign as well as an extensive patch, ”resulting from all the feedback received during the first phase.”
Contributors, those who purchased the more expensive version of the game, will receive the following.
Users of the Contributors Edition will – in addition to the above mentioned – receive an update of the map editor and a brand new downloadable cut scene. The main features introduced in the game update will be:
-
missions 4 and 5 of the campaign
-
14 new unlockable achievements
-
a new unit (called the Heavy Trooper)
-
a huge patch resulting from players feedback during Phase 1
