Bandai Namco has announced that From Software’s action fantasy Dark Souls II will receive three new chapters of DLC, together making up The Lost Crowns trilogy.
Crown of the Sunken King, the first chapter in this new DLC trilogy, will be available in Europe and Australasia on July, 22, 2014 for PC. There’s also a new trailer that offers a glimpse at the deadly paths we’ll be walking when the DLC drops.
The Lost Crowns DLC takes players on a journey through three distinct new environments in a search for the titular crowns of King Vendrick, a major figure in the main story of Dark Souls II. First episode Crown of the Sunken King is set in a huge cavern underground, and from the trailer it’s got a vaguely Aztec vibe crossed with a little bit of Lovecraft. Expect new bosses, enemies, weapons and items.
“We are pleased to offer this new Dark Souls experience with The Lost Crowns trilogy to players seeking for more challenges!” said Herve Hoerdt, Vice President of IP Strategy, Marketing & PR at Bandai Namco Games Europe, in a press release sent to Strategy Informer. “With this Season Pass, Bandai Namco Games is pleased to extend the Dark Souls experience over this summer!”
You can grab a Dark Souls II season pass from Steam right now. Season pass for a Souls game? Doesn’t seem right, does it?
