This looks insanely ambitious - developer Four Funnels Entertainment is recreating the ill-fated passenger liner RMS Titanic in its entirety for upcoming adventure game Titanic: Honor and Glory.
You’ll experience the full Titanic experience, from boarding and the initial voyage to the unfortunate sinking bit that everyone remembers. All without a small, annoying Leonardo Di Caprio making an appearance. Lovely!
Although the faithful recreation of one of the most famous ships of all time is one selling point, there’s also a story. You play as Robert Morgan, a man accused of stealing from the British Museum who manages to escape aboard the Titanic. Somewhere on board is the person who framed him, but before he can clear his name he’ll need to avoid getting hit by falling propellers or frozen into a big human popsicle in the North Atlantic ocean.
You know what the most exciting thing is? Real capsizing physics! According to the developers, ”Our sinking will more closely match the one shown in Final Word, meaning its primary features will be a steeper port list and a lower-angle breakup.” Which means the ship won’t stick straight up in the air like in James Cameron’s movie.
Four Funnels have announced that Titanic: Honor and Glory will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. No news on when that will be, but you can check out the latest version of the game, which has now been shifted from the CryEngine over to Unreal, in the video above.
