Those hotfixes targeted the new hot-under-the-collar citizens as anger is now a threat, with brawls liable to breakout. Thank goodness for brigs.
Those who are a little too punchy with their anger can be placed in brig zones that must be locked, which require power. Oh yeah, bases now need power as a resource.
Before stuff was just working off alpha magic but now we’ve got reactors to maintain if we’d like our equipment to function. Our Base Seed actually provides itself as a starter power reactor, but Fusion and Dark Matter Reactors will be needed eventually to power everything. Power itself simply travels through connected rooms.
The Brig zones are essentially cells where the angry citizens will cool off, but of course they then can’t participate in normal life aboard the station in the meantime. If the doors to the Brig zones lose power then they’ll escape. These areas can be furnished with essential amenities like beds etc.
Alpha 6 also implements personal possessions for citizens, and some have function! ”They become attached to their possessions, display them on available shelving, and trade for possessions they like more with other citizens. Citizen affinity for a given possession is based on its qualities such as color, material, shape, etc.,” explained Double Fine.
There are now also affinities for specific duties aboard the station with some becoming unhappy if they’re stuck in a job they hate. Beds can also be assigned to certain people which in turn makes them happier, and they’ll be keen to display their possessions about their room. Check out the latest Alpha 6 changelog for more info.
