Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has reached its crowdfunding goal on the final day of its Indiegogo campaign. The side-scrolling beat-em-up is a sequel to the 1992 fighter Shaq Fu featuring former basketball star Shaquille O’Neal, renowned as one of the worst games of all time.
The aim here is to create a game that doesn’t suck quite so much. Shaq’s on board too.
”We finished with a grand total of $473,884!” reads an update on the developer’s campaign blog. ”Big Deez productions would like to thank everybody that made this possible. We’re so excited to be working with you all. You’ve made this experience a real joy. There has been so much support from everyone. It was fantastic to see how hard everyone worked into the last days and hours of the campaign. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of you.”
Shaq Fu will be released on PCs and consoles. There’s no official date set as yet.
