Charlemagne, the next expansion for grand strategy game Crusader Kings 2, will drop on October 14. Four new pieces of supplementary DLC will arrive at the same time.
Charlemagne adds one hundred years of history to the timeline, and features several story events tied in to the rise of the legendary King of the Franks.
Also included is a new Player Chronicle, which allows you to track your historical achievements, and the opportunity to create your own Kingdoms to slot into the world. That’s not all of course, there’s a tonne of additional options scattered through the new content, including new tribal holdings to replace the traditional castle/city combination.
The other four DLC packs will add new clothing, portrait packs, unit graphics and dynasty shields. As usual Paradox will release a free patch for everyone who doesn’t own the expansion, adding some of the new gameplay functions and setting the timeline back to 867. Time to lose another few hundred hours to CK2, I guess.
