Grundislav Games’ roaring twenties crime adventure A Golden Wake is on the way this month, and the developer has released a demo to get you in the mood for tommy guns, private eyes, bootlegged booze and… property management.
A Golden Wake is a point and click adventure set in the glitzy suburb of Coral Gables, an area at the centre of the Los Angeles real estate boom of the twenties.
You play young entrepreneur Alfie Banks, who’s out to make his fortune in the heady world of prohibition America - if he can avoid getting tommy-gunned to death by the local mob, that is. Based loosely on real events and historical figures, and set in a real location that experienced the highest highs and lowest lows of the early 20th century, A Golden Wake looks like a lovingly-crafted nod to retro adventure games.
It’s out this October 9. You can grab the demo from publisher Wadjet Eye’s website or over on Steam.
