TaleWorlds Entertainment has announced a December 11 release date for Mount and Blade: Warband’s Viking Conquest DLC, which was externally developed by the team behind the popular ’Brytenwalda’ mod.
To go along with the announcement, they’ve also released a live action trailer for the new expansion, featuring burly men hacking each other to bits with axes.
Viking Conquest moves the Mount and Blade action over to Dark Ages Britain, and features “a complex plot, where choices have real consequences, as well as a standard sandbox mode in an all new setting.”
Boats and coastal raids play a big part, as you might imagine, with new naval battles where you’ll have to adjust your ship’s facing in response to wind speeds and rough weather. As it’s set in a real historical period, you’ll also be able to interact with various excellently-named Viking chieftains. Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye, anyone?
You can pre-order Viking Conquest right now from various online retailers, including Steam, GOG, Gamersgate and more.
