Bit Reactor and EA’s Respawn Entertainment, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, have jointly revealed the turn-based tactics game Star Wars Zero Company at Star Wars Celebration Japan.
The first-ever details, screenshots, and trailer have arrived just a few days after an early tease and title announcement. We’ve also learned the game will launch at some point in 2026, hitting all current-gen platforms: PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
Before you watch the first trailer below, read the official description (straight from EA and Lucasfilm Games’ press release) here:
“In Star Wars Zero Company, players will step into the shoes of Hawks, a former Republic officer, to command an elite squad of cunning operatives through a gritty and authentic story set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. As an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire hailing from across the galaxy, Zero Company must set aside their differences to overcome nearly impossible odds and take on an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.”
“It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. According to the information shared at Celebration and via the official channels, Zero Company will essentially be the Star Wars version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which sounds awesome.
Players will be able to customize Hawks’ appearance and class. This will also apply to the squad members recruited over the course of the game, with options coming “from a range of original Star Wars character classes and species.” From clone troopers to astromechs to Jedi, squadmates can be fully tailored to suit a certain playstyle and different team builds.
At the same time, Hawks and their recruits will meet “a cast of newly authored Star Wars characters” over the course of their adventures, which will also involve building a base of operations, running investigations, and expanding a network of informants across the galaxy far, far away.
