It’s been a while since we had a proper World War II FPS, a genre that once dominated the gaming landscape like one of those big dinosaur chaps with the long necks. CI Games are hoping to change that with upcoming shooter Enemy Front, and now they’ve detailed a Limited Edition version with a bunch of extra goodies.
Enemy Front Limited Edition will set you back $49.99 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It comes with an exclusive ‘Raid on St. Nazaire’ mission, two new guns, a couple of skins which are presumably for multiplayer and the official soundtrack for the game.
Amusingly, Enemy Front has you in the role of an American war correspondent battling Nazis in occupied Europe. The traditional role of a journalist in wartime is to start blasting enemy soldiers apart, of course. Like when Kate Adie went mental with that machine-gun.
Anyway, it’s built on the CryEngine 3, and takes players from Nazi-controlled France to Norway and Poland. Norway and Poland haven’t been the subject of many WWII games, so that could be interesting.
This Limited Edition is only confirmed for the Americas currently, but it seems likely we’ll get a European version when the game releases on June 14.
