Team17, the development studio behind the Worms series, recently announced a return to third-party publishing with upcoming titles like Light, The Escapists, Hay Ewe and Schrodinger’s Cat And The Raiders Of The Lost Quark.
Now the company is expanding its publishing services with a dedicated publishing office in Nottingham, England.
”Team17 has a unique approach to third party publishing,” writes the developer in a recent press release, ”openly attempting to challenge and disrupt traditional publishing models in order to make the process a more fair, balanced and supportive partnership for indie developers. Team 17 offers a truly unique service; co-development, digital and boxed publishing, along with general support. Does not look to control your IP; Team17 can offer funding and even help with office space for select games.”The new office will form the centre of Team 17’s commercial and publishing activities for both first and third party games.
Managing Director, Debbie Bestwick, said “We’ve been staggered by the number of Indies that have approached us and even more so by the services they require. Simply put, traditional publishing cannot deliver what Team17 can. Opening a publishing office gives the publishing side of the business a separate identity and will sharpen our focus even further. We are actively recruiting for commercially-minded and innovative publishing personnel across a number of areas to help build upon 2013’s record breaking year.”
