CI Games has announced that action RPG dungeon-crawler Lords of the Fallen is coming to PC and current-gen consoles this October 31.
It’s way too obvious to describe the game as a bit like Dark Souls. But really, it’s a bit like Dark Souls.
You play as Harkyn, an angry tattooed chap who’s long been imprisoned for an impressive variety of different crimes. When an army lead by an evil god arrives to mess up evryone’s day, the rulers of humanity make the slightly ill-advised decision to release Harkyn, possibly the only man who’s enough of a bastard to defeat the enemy.
I caught a demo presentation (no hand-on gameplay, sadly) of Lords of the Fallen earlier this year, and as easy as it is to dismiss it as a clone of From Software’s hit, it looks like the game has enough going for it to justify your attention.
Graphically it looks very tidy, the art design is gorgeous, and the combat seemed pretty solid if slightly less unforgiving than in Dark Souls. Hard to tell too much when you’re not playing of course, but the signs were good.
When it drops this October Lords of the Fallen will set you back £49.99 on current-gen consoles, with the PC version slightly cheaper at £29.99.
