Independent game developers and publishers Fenix Fire have released a new trailer for their upcoming arcade shooter Source. The company also announced that they’re bringing the indie title to PAX East this weekend, where they will reveal ”exclusive details about their up-and-coming arcade adventure”.
”‘Source’ is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced!” write Fenix Fire in a press release sent to Strategy Informer, ”Existing in an alternate dimension, you control a firefly creature with the unique power to give and receive energy to every living being in a strange, bio luminescent world. However, this world is being devoured by a sinister and relentless dark energy that is literally tearing the world apart, and it is your destiny as the last of your kind, to stop the terrible threat of extinction.”
Stopping that threat will involve lots of zooming about, much shooting of beam weapons, and frequent puzzle-solving. As you can see from the video, it’s got those Tron-style orange and blue neon visuals down very nicely. We’ll find out more about the game at PAX East.
Source is in development for PC, PS4 and XBox One, with no release plans currently revealed.
