Now this is excellent news. Developer Double Fine has confirmed via their official Twitter that the remastered version of classic adventure game Grim Fandango will be available on PC, Mac and Linux.
It was something of a surprise at E3 this year to find out that Tim Schafer’s darkly comic tale of scheming skeletons would be getting an updated HD version on PS4 and Vita. Good to hear that it’s coming back to its original platform too.
”Reap your heart out!” reads a tweet posted on Double Fine’s Twitter page yesterday. ”We’re pleased to announce Grim Fandango will also be available on PC, Mac, and Linux alongside PlayStation 4 and Vita!””
Grim Fandango, first released back in 1998, follows Mexican skeleton Manny, a travel agent at the Department of Death caught up in a noir-style mystery. It’s funny, unique and basically the best thing Tim Shafer has ever done.
No word on a release schedule yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for further revelations.
