Sega and developer Sports Interactive have partnered with Vue Cinemas and producers FilmNova to release a feature length Football Manager documentary studying the impact of the game in both in wider culture and the professional world of football.
An Alternative Reality: The Football Manager Documentary is rumoured to include a scene where I throw a cup at the wall after losing to Oldham Athletic on penalties in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
“The documentary isn’t our story – it’s the story of the people who escape to the alternative reality of being a football manager, and the effect this has had on their lives. It’s also the story of how a computer game made by football fans has become apart of the world it set out to replicate,” says Miles Jacobson, director of Sports Interactive. “But it’s not just for people who play– it’s also for people who’ve ever wondered why others spend so much time escaping into this world.”
An Alternative Reality: The Football Manager Documentary will be shown at the 26 Vue cinemas listed below, and will be followed by a short video showing off the new features to be found in the upcoming Football Manager 2015. Following that, Miles Jacobsen will take part in a live satellite Q&A session to answer questions submitted by fans from across all venues.
