Obsidian has teased they’re working on a licensed property and are looking to Kickstarter again for approval. It will not be Alpha Protocol 2, that much is sure.
The studio has quite a bit in the pipeline with South Park: The Stick of Truth, MMO Skyforge in conjunction with Allods Team, Pillars of Eternity and now this next-gen.
”Obsidian Entertainment is looking for a talented and experienced UI artist to design the user experience for a next generation game,” blurbs the job position on the official website. ”This artist will be responsible for creating a ground breaking user-experience, including laying out designs, creating concepts and mockups, creating in-game assets, assembling them, animating them and exporting them, using Adobe Flash CS5 and Scaleform.”
What IP is Obsidian dusting off and is it related to this next-gen project?
”There’s something we’re talking about that I think would be really cool, but it’s not an original property. It’s a licensed property. But it’s not Alpha Protocol! It’s something we can still do a ton of creative stuff with, though. And then the other thing is an original property,” CEO Feargus Urquhart told RPS last month. ”Also, there’s a third thing that somebody approached us with, but I really don’t think that’s going to work out.”
