The Amnesia Fortnight game-jam held by Double Fine is underway, and studio head Tim Schafer has announced four projects to emerge from the prototype buffet they hold annually. Four winners; four possible games.
Past Amnesia Fortnight ideas that have become a thing include Spacebase DF-9, which today stands in alpha on Steam Early Access. So, who were this year’s winners?
”AF 2014: @buenothebear’s Little Pink Best Buds, @Bernhelm’s Steed, @doubleanna’s Dear Leader, @df_mnemonic’s Mnemonic. Congrats, y’all!,” tweeted Schafer.
You can download and play prototypes of the winners if you contribute to the Humble Amnesia Fortnight store. The game-jam itself begins in 4 days’ time where we’ll see live streams and daily recaps as Double Fine create these prototypes for our merciless consumption.
”We take two weeks off from whatever we’re working on, split the company into small teams, and give each team two weeks to make a game. It’s not easy or fair; but it is exciting. We do it to test out new ideas, and to test out new project leaders who feel ready to have a project of their own. Some of these project leaders will live, and the others, well, they will also live. But they will NEVER BE THE SAME.”
Below are the four pitch videos for each winner.
