Sci-fi MMO WildStar is moving over to new (and very exciting sounding) ‘megaservers’ this week, bringing improved server capacity, more players, more groups, and more opportunities for raiding and dungeoneering.
Megaserver transition begins on Wednesday October 15, with all realms going offline for up to 24 hours.
Because this isn’t scheduled maintenance, the good folks at Carbine Studios are giving players a gift in return for their patience; ”a month’s worth of Boom-Boxes (One per day for 30 days) and a free day of game time to all players.”
All characters who were on PVP servers will head over to their new homes on Luminai (EU) or Warhound (NA), while those on PVE servers will be moved to Jabbit (EU) or Entity (NA). To prevent duplicates when everybody gets mixed up, all players now have to choose a surname. Any duplicate Guild names will be handed over to the oldest founding, while the newer Guild will be prompted to change its name.
There’s a more in-depth look at the new megaservers and the transition process over on the WildStar website.
