World of Warcraft’s ‘Iron Tide’ update rolls out today, preparing the game for the launch of expansion Warlords of Draenor later this year.
Iron Tide features a new world event, a raft of changes to the special abilities of each class, and several other important gameplay changes.
Blizzard has revamped the Group Finder adds premade groups, improved the inventory to add coloured borders around each item to indicate quality, and increased the size of tradeable item stacks is up to 200 from 20. Quest logs have been integrated into the world map for easier adventuring, and quest items no longer take up space in your inventory. The update also finally adds those new character models that Blizzard’s been teasing all year.
An all new ‘Iron Horde Incursion’ world event, which you can read more about here sees The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands open, and a horde of angry orcs pour out. That would be the Iron Horde, villains of the upcoming expansion. Both the Alliance and the Horde are rushing over to the breach to defend Azeroth.
Finally, you can sample a taste of the new dungeons on the way in Warlords of Draenor. The Infiltration of Blackrock Spire. is a reworked version of Upper Blackrock Spire, which is available to level 90 characters for a limited time. Here’s the blurb:
”An advance party of Iron Horde forces has barged right out of the Blasted Lands and pushed all the way to Blackrock Mountain, where they found refuge and supplies in Upper Blackrock Spire. There can be only one response: the Alliance and the Horde of Azeroth must face this iron incursion head on.”
