After an initial failed Kickstarter, and a very successful subsequent period of selling the game through their own website, developers Bugbear have now released Next Car Game on Steam Early Access.
It’s been an interesting year or so for the demolition-focused racing game with the boring name, but now Bugbear seem to be making progress. After all, it’s all very well selling via your own website, but Steam offers a whole new kind of audience.
As always, this is an unfinished build that will be updated over time. Bugbear emphasize this on the game’s Steam page.
“Warning: Early access phase is meant to give you a chance to experience the game as it progresses through its development cycle, and the game is still at an early stage. As such, it does contain missing features and nasty bugs. Developing the game together with the players gives us a lot more creative freedom, and you get to communicate with the development team to make sure we’re making the all-out racing game that you want.”
Next Car Game is available on Early Access in a standard £18.99/€22.88 version, and a digital deluxe edition with the soundtrack and a bonus car for £26.99/€32.51.
